Our Key Teaching Principles

At International House Tbilisi, we believe students learn faster and more effectively when they are at the centre of the learning process. Our experienced teachers use a variety of techniques to actively involve learners in task-based activities such as discussions, role-plays, games, problem-solving tasks, surveys, and projects.
Motivation is essential to mastering any new skill, and learning a new language is no exception. Students are more motivated when topics are relevant, interesting, and up to date. Providing engaging and meaningful materials is a core part of our teaching approach.
Real progress requires challenge. Our teachers encourage students to move forward, experiment with new language, and develop confidence in using English. Regular feedback is provided in class and, where appropriate, via email. Students are also assessed on a regular basis so they can clearly see their progress and areas for improvement.
Our communicative approach gives students plenty of opportunities to practise speaking and listening. At the same time, we place strong emphasis on developing reading and writing skills, ensuring balanced and comprehensive language development.
International House Tbilisi uses an up-to-date communicative and task-based approach to language learning. Our aim is to develop students’ communication skills through both spoken and written comprehension and production.
Teachers use a wide range of resources, including course books, audio and video materials, as well as authentic real-life content such as newspapers, magazines, television, and online resources. Language is always presented in context, using everyday situations that help students communicate naturally and confidently.
Authentic materials also give students valuable insight into cultures and societies around the world, while at the same time developing their linguistic and communicative competence.
