Communicative Language Teaching Course
The Introduction to Communicative Language Teaching course will be held on Saturdays and consists of three sessions in total.
Each session lasts 3 hours and covers two topics.
Session 1
- Principles of Communicative Language Teaching
You will become familiar with the core principles, techniques, and procedures of communicative language teaching. Various activities characteristic of the communicative approach will be presented, and you will have the opportunity to evaluate their relevance and effectiveness.
- Classroom Management
This session will focus on what classroom management means in practice, with particular attention to identifying critical moments during lessons and strategies for dealing with them. You will develop essential skills that will help you successfully manage and resolve challenging classroom situations.
Session 2
- Adapting Coursebook Activities
We will work with activities from coursebooks and adapt them to make them more communicative, motivating, and engaging. Participants will also have the opportunity to choose an activity from a coursebook and demonstrate its advantages to colleagues.
- Using Practice Exercises
This session will focus on the key characteristics of effective practice exercises and the factors that are important for their successful planning and use. You will learn how to select, design, and implement practice exercises more effectively in teaching.
Session 3
- Presenting Language Structures
Techniques for presenting language structures adapted to different age groups will be demonstrated. The advantages of this approach will be discussed in relation to the effective use of language structures.
- Developing Speaking Skills
You will be introduced to various exercises and activities designed to help students speak more fluently. These activities will support learners in establishing communication easily across different contexts.
